Emily, I just had to leave you a note because last night I thought of you so much. Our small group was watching our last DVD of the Truth Project and I was so moved by the idea that God is a humble God and that is why we are to be humble. That is why He is a king who puts on peasants clothing and goes down to the people and cares for them. That is one reason we are to care for the needy and outcast, because He cares for them. Here are two of the verses that challenged me. I hope they encourage you today also.
Psalm 72:4 "He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; he will crush the oppressor."
Psalm 12:5 "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," say the Lord. "I will protect them from those who malign them."
Thanks Emily for obeying the Lord and following Him to the DR to help "save the children of the needy" and "protect them." You are His hands and feet.
We love you! Aunt Dee and all
